Servaes Nelissen

The actor Servaes Nelissen received several prizes for his work in recent years. Notable production in which he participated are Dollywood, Kom maar bij het vrouwtje and Purcity. According to The Amsterdam Fund for the Arts: “Simplicity is his forte. Nelissesn is convincing in a variety of styles, ranging from natural to clownish. He astutely recognizes what is special in the ordinary. Servaes participated in several productions by Rieks Swarte and played with a number of troupes, such as Nieuw West, Orkater, and Toneelgroep Oostpool. Next season he will again perform solo in Herberts Aquarium (a gem, according to NRC) and join the troupe Toneelschap Beumer en Drost.

 

Tom de Ket studied at the Maastricht (NL) School for Theatre. Since his graduation, he has been active on radio, television and in the theatre. He teaches at, among others, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Herman Teirlinck, De trap and the Toneel Academie. He worked with Theatergroep Hollandia (Schrijf en Meer niet), Theater Artemis (Okke En Narre, Vroeg Wijs, Wiesje Wast Zich Af en Hit), Suver Nuver (Jc Superman and De Aankondiging).

 

Tom is rather well known for his part in the “Van Houts & De Ket” cabaret duo. In 2002 Tom for the first time appeared on film in De Grotten Van Han by the NPS, which received the Gouden Kalf for the best short film. His piece De Grote Verkiezingsshow was chosen for the Theatre Festival and was nominated for the NRC popular prize. He is currently touring the Netherlands with his own program Van Hunebed tot Hyves. He writes his own texts, but also produces for other troupes and broadcasting organizations. Tom is the author of the texts for the Ars Retorica production
